Tastes That Make a Difference: Cactus at the 2025 Taste of West Seattle

What a night. Taste of West Seattle came back strong this year, and it was great to be part of it again. The event brought together dozens of local spots, including restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, wineries, bakeries, and more, each showing off a little of what they do best. Guests got to sample, vote, and connect, and the place was packed from start to finish.
All told, the event raised just over $40,000 for the West Seattle Food Bank. The goal was higher, but that number still makes a huge difference for families who rely on the Food Bank for meals, rent and utility help, clothing, and other essentials. Being part of that effort is why we love showing up for this event year after year.

We served our Smoked Brisket Tacos with Applewood-smoked brisket, cascabel salsa, Monterey Jack, red onion escabeche, and cilantro, and people loved them. Guests came by with big smiles and plenty of stories. One said, “I was just at Cactus yesterday,” and another told us, “We just moved here, but I already heard I need to come in for the chicken fried chicken.” Moments like that remind us how connected this community really is.
Huge thanks to our chefs and the crew who put in the prep work and powered through the night. It takes a lot to pull off an event like this, and they made it happen with energy and heart.
Taste of West Seattle is always a good reminder of how much stronger we are when local businesses, neighbors, and nonprofits come together. We are proud to have played a part and look forward to the next one.
